MTG players: has anyone else put Eldrazi spawn creators in non-Eldrazi decks to improve mana acceleration?

I've put a few of the green Eldrazi creatures and enchantments that produce colourless Eldrazi spawn tokens into my big green beastie deck, and I've loved how it helps to bring out ginormous (and expensive!) creatures much earlier than I'm accustomed to. A friend of mine has complained about it, saying doing so creates an unfair advantage, but I don't think it's that much of an advantage. I'm interested to know what others' experiences have been.
