I have an old Sword made by Henderson Ames Co.?

I currently have an old sword that i obtained that is a family heirloom. the Sword has a gold plated handle and the sheath has gold plated designs on it and the metal on it is rusted due to age. It was made by the Henderson Ames Co. and belonged to Col. Chas M. Bowker. Can anyone give me information about it?
